Student Leadership Team (SLT) officer nominations for our new term (Spring 2020 through Fall 2020) begin Friday November 1. Office positions include: President, Vice President / Secretary, Prayer Team and Outreach/Missions Team / Treasurer. Nomination forms will be available at our regular events. Specific officer responsibilities and qualifications are listed on the nomination form. The SLT is responsible for planning all of our events, themes, organization and administration of Active Christians Today UT. Also, University of Toledo regulations require officer positions for all student organizations.
To be nominated for a position, a student must receive at least two nominations for the same position (nomination and second). Nominations may be placed in the drop box in the kitchen. No self-nominations are allowed. One student cannot nominate someone for multiple positions. Nominations will close on November 8 at 7:30 pm. Scott and Karen will review all nominations and contact those who were nominated. Students may accept or decline their nomination. Once all students have accepted and/or declined their nomination, a ballot will be assembled.
Ballots will be made available for students on November 10. Students will have until November 26 to vote for the leadership team. Once voting is closed, Scott and Karen will tally votes, contact candidates and confirm the new leadership team. This leadership team will assume their new SLT officer positions beginning December 1. A meeting of our old and new leadership team will take place on December 6.
You do not have to be an officer to serve on our team! We have many students who attend our meetings and serve but have chosen not to take an officer role. We would love for you to be involved!
God is with you through the pain. He comforts you in the waiting. When you’re anxious about your future, He gives you courage. As you climb the mountain, He keeps you safe in His arms. In every moment, God is with you. Let’s celebrate Him together this Christmas!
At ACT UT, we celebrate the Advent season early so that we can conclude with a candlelight Christmas Eve service before the end of the Fall semester.

Thanksgiving comes to Active Christians Today on Friday, November 25. We meet at 6 PM for a FULL Thanksgiving Dinner at the ACT UT Campus House (2018 Bretton Place Toledo 43606). Our menu includes turkey, corn bread stuffing, mashed potatoes, green bean casserole, pumpkin pie and apple pie.
We will sing Thanksgiving Carols around our faux fire, share our blessings and spend time in prayer and thanksgiving. We will also add to our handprint wall in the basement. If you haven't added a hand print before, now is your chance!
Plan now to be a part as we get set to celebrate the holiday season in style!
Part of our ACT UT 2019 Fall Retreat weekend included hiking at Oak Openings Metropark. We spent some time in the sand dunes working through the Daily Examen - a way to consider where we have been and where we are going in our journey of faith. The weather was perfect and the scenery reminded us of what a great Creator we serve!
Tuesday nights we welcome you to join our Small Group study "Jesus in the Real World."
We meet at 7 PM in the Active Christians Today UT Campus House (2018 Bretton Place Toledo 43606). Each Tuesday the group takes a case study and looks at it from a Christian perspective. How does faith play into real world situations? That's the question we attempt to answer each week.
At the core, our small groups are an opportunity for our students to get connected, study God’s Word, and encourage each other in their walk with Christ.
The goal of our small groups is to help students become fully devoted followers of Christ and to allow God's Word to inspire them to love, learn, and lead the present and future generations.
If you are interested in an ACT UT Small Group, just show up! We would love to meet you and would love to hear your contribution to our weekly discussions.
Whether you're looking to meet others in your own life stage or find someone to be an accountability partner, this is the place to be!
Wednesday nights are busy at the ACT House (2018 Bretton Place Toledo 43606)! We begin with our Free Family Dinner at 5:30 PM. If class or your job is off later, no worries! We'll save some for you!
We prepare a special and sometimes unique meal each Wednesday. We serve everything from the typical (pizza, tacos) to the off-beat (breakfast for dinner, cereal). We will also grill out when possible including everything from pork chops to hot dogs and burgers!
Bible Study begins at 7:00 PM. Are you hungry to grow in your faith? We're the place to be on Wednesday nights! We dive in deep to Scripture to discover what God has to say to us.
Come join us!
Wednesday following our Free Family Dinner at 5:30 we hold our weekly large group Bible Study at 7 PM.
The title of our special series is "Alpha." What is Alpha? It is a weekly session exploring the Christian faith. Each evening we will look at a different question around faith.
Our weekly talks are designed to engage and inspire conversation. Each focuses on the big issues around faith and unpack the basics of Christianity through God's Word.
The most important part of the evening is our discussion. This is your chance to share thoughts and ideas on the topic. There's never an obligation to say anything. And there's nothing you can't say! It's an opportunity to hear from others and contribute your own perspective in an honest, friendly and open environment.
Alpha is run around the world but no two Alphas look the same. However, they generally have three things in common: food, a talk and good conversation. Join us at 5:30 for the food and the talk begins at 7 PM. We will conclude by 8 PM each evening!
We had some good, messy fun at our annual Messy Twister night at the Active Christians Today University of Toledo Campus House! It was great to welcome ACT Bowling Green State University to the festivities in what was truly a perfect night for getting covered in shaving cream from head to toe!
Messy Twister is Twister with a twist! Each of the Twister circles will be filled with tempera paint and shaving cream... leading to a MESS!
