The latest news from Active Christians Today!
Tuesday nights we welcome you to join our Small Group study "Jesus in the Real World."
We meet Tuesdays at 8 PM at the Active Christians Today UT Campus House (2018 Bretton Place Toledo 43606). Each week our group takes a case study and looks at it from a Christian perspective. How does faith play into real world situations? That's the question we attempt to answer each week.
At the core, our goal is to create an opportunity for our students to get connected, study God’s Word, and encourage each other in their walk with Christ.
With "Jesus in the Real World," our case studies take a tough situation and ask us to consider how our faith and Scripture applies. It allows us to use practical examples to build and grow our faith.
If you are interested in taking on one of our case studies, just show up! We would love to meet you and would love to hear your contribution to our weekly discussions.
Whether you're looking to meet others in your own life stage or find someone to be an accountability partner, this is the place to be!
Possible topics include:
What if you received praise for something you felt was a failure? How do you respond?
Your Muslim friend wants to know if they will meet you in heaven.
Is it okay for a church to violate government policy or laws in order to worship together? When is it not?
A singer at your church simply isn't very good. How should the situation be handled?
When is a hug... no longer a hug?
An immigrant family finds shelter in a church. The police ask you to let them in to arrest and deport them. Would you? Should you?
Is it ever okay to follow the spirit of the law over the letter of the law? Why or why not?
Join us Wednesday nights ONLINE for Bible Study at 7 PM.
Contact us for links to the online platform for our Bible Study each week!
Our weekly talks are designed to engage and inspire conversation. Each focuses on the big issues around faith and unpack the basics of Christianity through God's Word.
The most important part of the evening is our discussion. This is your chance to share thoughts and ideas on the topic. There's never an obligation to say anything. And there's nothing you can't say! It's an opportunity to hear from others and contribute your own perspective in an honest, friendly and open environment.
During the year we do topical studies along with in-depth study of Scripture. In every case, we dive into God's Word to discover truths applicable to our world. Our studies have three things in common: food, a talk and good conversation. We will conclude by 8 PM each Wednesday evening!
Every Friday though the Fall 2020 semester we'll be headed out to the "Weaver Family Ranch" (6260 Prov Neap Swan Rd Swanton OH 43558). Join us anytime after 6:30 PM. If the weather is bad on Friday, we will move to Saturday night at the same time (please check our social media sites for updates!). Rides will be available from the campus house (please wear a mask).
We have two acres of space so that we are able to follow the state of Ohio coronavirus safety precautions at all times. We will be physically distant but close in the Spirit in the great outdoors!
We will have a variety of food and fun each week including s'mores, hot dogs, pudgie pies, campfires, games, ping pong, movies, music and more!
Those who don't wish to make a late night drive home are welcome to camp out or sleep in the barn (no reservations needed!).
Bring your own bedding and personal items you might need!

Information regarding the weather situation will be updated here and on our social media outlets.

What is Active Chritians Today all about? Ask our students! Listen as they talk about what ACT means to them and then come to one of our upcoming events to find out more!
ACT BG & UT traveled to Ann Arbor, Detroit and Dearborn to answer the question "Who is My Neighbor?" We reached out to the homeless in Ann Arbor, we worked with Central Detroit Christian Community Development and learned about work in Dearborn. It was an amazing weekend filled with prayer, fellowship, service and testimony!
Despite the scattered showers, we had a wonderful evening filled with blessed encounters, uplifting conversation, joyful fellowship and a lot of hot dogs and hamburgers! Thank you to everyone who gave of their time and volunteered to help out for this fantastic outreach to the BG student community!
April Fool's Day was a great day at ACT UT! We held a special Scavenger Hunt planned by our ACT ladies for the ACT men. Our men were sent out across the city of Toledo following clues to see if they could complete the hunt created by our ladies.
Our groups challenged each other for the most number of "found locations" before returning to the ACT UT Campus House. Once the hunt was over, the ladies planned a wonderful pork chop dinner for everyone back at the ACT UT Campus House!
Why did the ladies planned the Scavenger Hunt for the men? This was the result of the Haiti Coin Wars challenge. The losers (the ladies) had to create a scavenger hunt for the winners. This is pay off day!
It was a great day and great fun and we want to do it again! Thank you to our ladies for a wonderful pay off for a great cause!
